One summer. One voice.

In 1993 Denver, a young poet uses her voice to speak out against the violence consuming her city.

Naomi is coming of age in a city at war with itself. Over one summer she finds the words to answer the violence around her, and learns what it costs to be heard.

Known on screen for In the Dark and The Shield, Nicki Micheaux makes her feature directorial debut with Summer of Violence. It is produced by Efuru Flowers of Flourishing Films.
